Meet Mary Freshwater

I have never considered myself a victim, survivor, warrior, or even brave. While there were times, I had to embody those qualities to navigate difficult moments, they were never meant to define me.

Throughout my life, I have endured sexual, physical, mental, emotional, verbal, and spiritual abuse. I witnessed a murder, been present for a suicide, and lost both a brother and mother without warning. I have known prosperity and complete brokenness, mental and emotional highs and lows, and the devastating loss of self and security. Through it all, I watched my identity unravel.

Yet, each of these adversities taught me, shaped me, and revealed new paths to healing and growth. They instilled core values I now cherish and gave me the wisdom to rebuild.

But my life is not just a tale of hardship, it is My Life Story, shaped by my own hands. While a negative world may have sketched the outline, I am the one who has built myself. I have chosen who I am within this narrative. Brick by brick, I have laid the foundation, not just to survive, but to become the architect of my own destiny.
